Catalog Number Guide

Use this guide to read GS-Tek GC column catalog numbers and confirm the phase, internal diameter, length, film thickness, or PLOT coating code before ordering. The structure is designed for lab buyers, method developers, and distributors who need to match a GC column specification accurately.

How to Read a GS-Tek GC Column Number

Example: 1525-3002 = GsBP-5MS phase code 15, 0.25 mm ID code 25, 30 m length code 30, and 0.25 um film code 02.

Choose the Phase First

Start with the stationary phase or equivalent column family. Phase choice has the largest impact on selectivity, compound retention, and method compatibility.

Match Dimensions to the Method

Confirm internal diameter and length against the method, carrier-gas flow, resolution target, sample capacity, and instrument configuration.

Confirm Film or Coating

Use film thickness for capillary columns and coating thickness for PLOT columns. Thicker films generally increase capacity and retention for volatile compounds.

Need help confirming a part number? Send the target phase, dimensions, application, instrument model, and quantity through the contact form. If you are replacing another manufacturer's column, include the current part number.
